Malaysia’s medical facilities are of world class standard and so competitively priced that already many Asians and even some Europeans are visiting Malaysia as medical tourists, to holiday and to have minor operations performed in any of the many private hospitals and clinics. For many visitors, Malaysia is their healthcare destination of choice because of its highly-trained, skilled English-speaking professional medical staff. In addition, world class medical facilities with the latest technology and equipment offer value for money quality services at favourable exchange rates. A wide range of affordable procedures - and an extensive range of specialised treatments is available. Experienced medical specialists, many with recognised post-graduate qualifications from the UK, Australia and the USA and multi-lingual support staff are each fully trained in their specific roles.

There are 224 private hospitals located nationwide all accessible to major international airports and a comprehensive network of hospitals and clinics to ensure quality after-care services.

Of course there are also superb hotels, procedures and resorts for post-operative recuperation and friendly and helpful staff to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Malaysia has a comprehensive and advanced infra-structure and all private medical centres are approved and licensed by the Ministry of Health. Most have also achieved certification for internationally recognised quality standards, for example, MS ISO 9002 or accreditation by the Malaysian Society for Quality of Health (M.S.Q.H.)

Private medical centres in Malaysia offer comfortable and well-appointed accommodation, ranging from suites to private rooms for single occupancy or more. Room charges, inclusive of meals, vary between medical centres but remain at an attractive level.

The private medical centres all offer a range of advanced healthcare and medical services, including Medical Screening Services, Diagnostic Services, Curative and Therapeutic Services as well as Dental Services.

Most Malaysian hospitals provide a complete range of accommodation to meet the needs and budgets of all patients from budget-minded four bedded rooms to royal suites. All rooms have been designed with comfort and safety in mind. Most rooms include imported electric adjustable beds, computerized personal nurse call system, individual satellite television with English programmes, a personal telephone for local and international calls and individually controlled room air conditioning. The cost to see a GP is about £4.00-£5.00 and a consultant, about £8.50. The appointment can normally either be made on the same day or the next working day.
